PERSONAL BIO:
Mick Cochrane
Mick has been fishing since he was old enough to hold a rod. Spending his younger years "bait fishing" with
his grandfather, Mick wet his first fly line when he was seven years old. At the age of 15 Mick learned to
fish wet flies, his first trout on a wet fly followed shortly thereafter, and he has been hooked ever since.
He has spent the past 35 years fly fishing for trout in Wyoming, Montana, Canada, and all over the eastern
half of the United States. The majority of his time has been spent fishing the central part of Pennsylvania
including: Fishing Creek, Spring Creek, Penns Creek, and the Little Juniata. Growing up in Bedford, Mick's
home water is Yellow Creek in Bedford County.
Mick has over 20 years of experience fishing the Lake Erie Tributaries for steelhead. These fishing experiences
span Ohio, Pennsylvania and New York.
Mick specializes in nymph fishing. Day in and day out he finds it to be the most productive method, but when
conditions are right he enjoys casting dries or swinging wets to rising fish.
Mick strives to ensure a quality experience for every client on every trip, whether it is trout or steelhead
fishing. He loves to share his knowledge and the most rewarding part of his job is transforming
beginners/newcomers into good nymph fisherman.
