Pre-Season Trout Stocking

Mark your calendar for Saturday March 3rd, 2012 at 12:00 noon as we celebrate the Pre-Season Trout Stocking!!!

Don't miss this opportunity to visit the shop and take in all the festive splendor as the town of Volant kicks up its heels this time each year. We're only five miles from the Prime Outlet Mall in Grove City, PA.

Come early, bring your camera, bring the family, and make a day of it. The town will have activities happening throughout the entire day including the Annual Volunteer Firefighter's Sausage and Pancake Breakfast. The ALL YOU CAN EAT meal is served ALL DAY long at fire hall. (adults ~7, seniors ~$6, children 6-12 ~$5, children under 5 FREE) The local Amish community will be selling hand-made crafts, baked goods, kettle cooked donuts, and kettle pop corn. The Volant merchants will have the red carpet layed out!!!

Purchase your 2012 PA fishing license, pre-season fishing supplies, and enter our raffle for a fly fishing rod (see details at the bottom of this page).

Come and watch as the PA Fish Commission stock the waters of Neshannock Creek at approximately 12:00 noon. The Neshannock Creek Fly Shop will also be stocking the "Lunker" Trout the following Saturday (March 10).

The "Lunker" Trout will consist of large trout anywhere from 16 inches to 5 pounds.

This is always an event that kids are excited to see, so make sure to bring them along. Kids are not only encouraged to watch, but are more than welcome to participate in the actual stocking. Fly Fishing is a great sport for youngsters. Each June, the shop hosts the Young Anglers Fly Fishing School. This is a terrific way to introduce youngsters to the fabulous sport of fly fishing. It's also a great opportunity for the young novice to improve their skills.

RAFFLE On the day of the pre-season stocking, take the time to enter our annual rod raffle. The winner will be drawn the following week during Neshannock Creek Fly Shop's "Lunker" Trout Stocking. Tickets are ONLY $5 each, or 3 tickets for $10 ($3.33 each), or 8 tickets for $20 ($2.50 each). The winner can choose any model of the Orvis Access fly rod of their choice! Tickets can be purchased anytime right up to the moment of the drawing (on Saturday March 10), so stop in and try your luck. All proceeds from the raffle (100%) are donated to buy the "Lunker" fish that will be stocked that day. Make sure to enter this contest, as all proceeds will be donated to buying fish for everyone to enjoy. The more tickets you buy, the more fish we will have for everyone. Do your part to help keep Neshannock Creek one of the premier trout streams in Western Pennsylvania.
